Scanning the web for inspirational music I came across this young man. Dylan Elise is some prodigy drummer that has unbelievable skill and creativity. Really there is not much to say because his drumming speaks for itself. He is sixteen in this video, need I say more.

I know it's been a long time since my last post, but I was watching the Paladia channel and I was watching art and music at some of its finest. The show I was watching was called "All Access: Front Row, Backstage, Live!" The film showcased several collaborations and perfomances like Sting, George Clinton, Carlos Santana, Macy Gray, and Kid Rock, but the one that blew me away was the collaboration by B.B. King, The Roots, and Trey Anastacio of Phish. They did "Rock Me Baby" like I've never heard and that everyone should enjoy. So please do.

Nimmo
I recently found out that a long time favorite of mine has recently started his own Youtube channel. So I immediately went to his channel and subscribed, as should you. Nimmo is an eclectic musical genius that uses his brand of music to communicate to God-knows-who, but I love it. He is an electro, DJ, composer, collage artist using every kind of music ranging from hip-hop, reggae, and soul to punk rock, death metal and electro clash. Very reminiscent of two of my other favorites, DJ Shadow and Amon Tobin, but still on a completely different wave length. While the videos he presents are simple (for now), it really is all about the music. So log on, subscribe, and listen to the future. Listen to my brother, I love my brother, the genius.

Morning of Owl
I subscribe to this filmographer on Youtube that goes by the name bd. His latest video was a slow motion capture of some guy breakdancing. The music was actually pretty cool and the dancer was great. I actually got curious about the dancer. So I found out he was part of an art project/dance crew called Morning of Owl. On there website there is not much information about the crew, but there are two videos you can check out and some contact info. I've posted the first video for you to check out. The dancing is incredible. It will actually make you wonder if some of the moves they are doing are even possible. The truth is that, the fact they can perform this, it's a testimony to the power of the human body and spirit. The film imagery they use in the video is heart wrenching. I have not stopped thinking about the photo of the what appears to be African boy next to the American boy. Check it out for yourself.

Solillaquist of Sound
I came across this hip hop group called Solillaquist of Sound, when I was looking for interesting music on my "On Demand" section of my Verizon cable. They truly blew my mind. Not only is it a fresh take on hip hop itself, but really just a fresh sound in general. They give me a similar feel to that which I get from Ozomatli, K'Naan, or even Bob Marley. In watching the video "Marvel" I caught myself with my jaw dropped wide open. I had to chuckle because it has been a while since a hip hop group was able to do that. Please enjoy.

DubFX
This is a new blog I want to dedicate to the discovery of new and old music alike. I figure since I love music and geek out on it, then I should start writing about it. Hopefully this will interest you and you can share some cool music with me. I think what I'll do is just post new music or videos or whatever and we'll go from there. So we'll start with a street performer that was introduced to me by my brother. He goes by the name DubFX and he is really amazing. He uses his voice like a guitar, using foot pedals and effects. Seeing is believing. So just click on his name and enjoy.
